NAWIT NAVSEA Structural Welder
Registered Apprenticeship Program

Sponsored and administered by Gorilla Way LLC (SM), the program is designed to connect structured related technical instruction with employer-led on-the-job learning and progressive wage/career development.

Program Architecture

Learn in class. Prove it on the job.

Registered apprenticeship works because instruction and productive work have different roles.

RTI

Related Technical Instruction

Technical foundations, safety, blueprints, welding processes, quality, documentation and preparation.

OJT / OJL

On-the-Job Learning

Employer-supervised work in the actual production environment under the applicable standards and procedures.

PROGRESSION

Competency + Wage Growth

Progressive development tied to the registered program structure and employer arrangements.

FEEDBACK

Employer Validation

Performance evidence feeds back into instruction, candidate preparation and future cohorts.

Alignment

Built for disciplined industrial environments.

Regulatory foundation

The apprenticeship framework is designed around applicable registered-apprenticeship requirements, including 29 CFR Parts 29 and 30, and applicable sponsor/program standards.

Maritime technical context

Training may familiarize participants with NAVSEA-aligned welding environments and applicable employer testing expectations. NAWIT does not independently grant Navy or NAVSEA qualification.

Qualification boundary: actual welding qualification remains subject to the employer, approved procedure, facility, contract, test and governing authority. Program language should never be read as Navy endorsement or independent certification authority.
